More about us
We provide a welcoming and inclusive space where people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels can meet to explore making with clay. Our aim is to foster creativity, wellness and community connection with the community of Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
CCP is a not for profit Community Interest Company founded in 2024 by a group of enthusiastic potters who met at adult education classes. Such was our disappointment when our beloved classes stopped running we formed a working group to explore the possibilities of running our own pottery space. And here we are!
Our space benefits the local community providing inclusive access to creative pottery classes and makers’ facilities - all with an underlyin focus on wellbeing. After months of hard work we moved into our brand new premises in November 2025 and now working to make more connections (and more pots!) with new and existing members.
Each week we run a variety of daytime and evening sessions, each being 2.5 hours long. Groups are mixed ability so if you fancy joining us please book here or for more details contact us below.
Our classes are run by award winning local potter Clare Gage. Clare has a wealth of experience of teaching ceramics and brings her friendly and supportive teaching style to CCP.
We also provide one-off workshop acitivities which give you a shorter, more focussed opportunity to explore clay. Workshops usually take just one session and make great gifts or experiences for special occasions!
If you are interested in joining us or have any questions about what we do, we'd love to hear from you.
